Las Vegas, NV

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  We've been busy staying cool here in hot Las Vegas.  When we arrived it was 118 degrees and our poor air conditioners were struggling to keep up.  We concluded pretty fast that we were going to have to buy some sun visors for some of the windows to block out some of the heat.  We rushed off to the nearest Camping World and found a large one for our front windshield.  Even though we have the black out shades on the exterior of the windshield it just wasn't enough.  Thank goodness it helped and we've been a lot more comfortable since.  Of course the temperatures have gotten a little lower (110) over the last week and a half and today is actually rainy and cloudy.

I hope everyone had a great 4th!  We headed down to the Las Vegas Strip to check out the festivities. Our plan was to drive down the strip and then head back the other direction to find parking so we could get out and enjoy the fireworks display near Caesars Place.  Well that didn't exactly work.  After turning around we got stuck in a massive traffic jam.  I've never seen anything like it.  Cars, taxi's and limos, bumper to bumper, and people everywhere.  We never made it to a parking garage and watched the fireworks from the car.  While sitting in the traffic we discovered that our gas gauge was on empty.  We had visions of our car running out of gas right in the middle of the strip, all the cars and people.  Thank goodness we were able to eventually get out of the traffic and found the nearest gas station.  After filling up the gas tank it was time to fill our tummy's.  We found a great little diner called "Blueberry Hill".  Great breakfast for me and Mexican for Jeff.  Both were excellent.

Jeff will be headed to San Francisco this week for work.  I'll stay behind to hold down the RV and take care of Taz.  After he gets back we're planning to take in a show when the Vegas Strip is a little less congested.  I'll keep you posted.
